I found it very interesting that a lot of the discussion focused on the challenges and methodologies of predicting climate changes, such as the atmospheric conditions, ocean temperatures, and their broader impacts on global climate. This discussion in the interview resonated with me as a reminder of how complex and important scientific research is in understanding and mitigating climate change. Often, people do not realize the importance of scientific research as being crucial to this specific process but I will remember the importance this interview placed on the topic and the valuable discussion and communication they had on climate predictability challenges.
This interview could have a large impact on my or society's future based on the topic matter and its timeliness. Because of its emphasis on climate predictability, this could empower me to engage more with the issue of climate change and commit more time to learning about the issue. For society more broadly, the interview could shed light on an issue that deserves more attention and spark more civic engagement from society as a whole.

Hi Jack. I found your comments on the lack of predictability surrounding climate change fascinating. It's really interesting to ponder about how we are supposed to make predictions when we don't really know the causal effect of any single variable (or the relationships that these predictors have on our response). I appreciate the reflection in an interesting topic that will require concrete solutions sooner rather than later.
