The most surprising piece of information that I heard was the lack of government sponsoring her work/ the search for extraterrestrial life. Based on the attention around Area 51 and the government's apparent obsession with protecting themselves from the unknown I believed that they would give their full-fledged support. At the same time, I think that it's interesting that astronomy which can be seen as deterministic isn't entirely- in addition, it was interesting when Jill felt as if she had a surefire prediction but it was ultimately incorrect. This is interesting because all of the tools used for predictions worked correctly but there were still errors in the interpretations/ final observations.
