My project is about predicting sea level rise in New York City, so this interview was quite enlightening because it discussed climate change and climate policy. Gina McCarthy's discussion about a climate change "silver bullet" was really interesting, because she was talking about a variety of solutions that can be implemented to make progress toward reducing the impact of climate change. Things like sustainable energy solutions, building greener buildings, and implementing more robust public transportation systems are methods that can be taken toward mitigating the impact of climate change. The main challenge that we face is working in coordination with people around the world and convincing people that these solutions are necessary.
