I found it interesting that there's evidence of humans not being the only animals to plan / think about the future. In a way, our evaluations about happiness and over reliance on certainty makes us no difference from animals who are just trying to ensure they have food in the future. Sure we may be just slightly more complex about our wants, but after all the talk about memory, perception, and imagination, our predictions of our own happiness are really quite simple and bad when left to our own devices.
