The most surprising moment in Avi Loeb’s interview was when he was talking about life sciences. To put it simply, he said we could “control life” if we develop the ability to seamlessly apply the laws of physics to life sciences. He was mentioning this in reference to creating life and “changing the conditions in the lab.” I loved this moment, foremost because I am a huge Jurassic Park fan, and second because this is a radical concept! There are so many implications that follow in the wake of “creating life” – prolonging life, preserving life, altering the meaning of life…etc. It’s fascinating.
