The NCAA men's basketball championship tournament begins tomorrow, and like every year, millions of people around the world will be making their best attempt to predict the results. The above article from CBS talks about a model from Sportsline.com which has simulated every game in the tournament 10,000 times, selecting the team that wins over half of these matchups to advance. Sportsline's model has an impressive track record, beating over 92% of human-made brackets 3 years out of the last 5. Unfortunately, their full prediction is behind a paywall, but I'll be sure to keep tabs on the model's success this year.
