I thought the most interesting concept in the interview was how in order to look for other life and planets, we must imagine life and solar systems completely different from ours. We only have one example of a planet with life, Earth, and It is hard to conceptualize how life can exist in a completely new way we are not used to understanding. Similarly, solar systems and planets could exist in ways we have never seen before which can hold life. Jill spoke about how when we modeled other solar systems and the forms they could take, they all happened to look like ours. I thought it was cool how scientists use science fiction movies to help them imagine other forms life can take and formulate new ideas. It can be hard to be creative when we only have one known planet with life to base our search of life off of.
