I think the most interesting part of the video was the discussion about what the government/the world would actually do if we ever found out, confirmed, and got into contact with alien life. If this ever happened, it definitely would fundamentally alter the way that people on earth look at life in general. Philosophers, theologians, and ethicists would engage in intense debate, exploring the implications of encountering beings with vastly different cultures, technologies, and values. There would also be a new surge of scientific exploration, aiming to understand the biology, society, and psychology of whoever we found, coupled with the knowledge they could actually be dangerous.
One question that I would have asked myself would be: what kind of alien life do we actually think we might be able to find, and do you think that they would have the inclination to be more aggressive or peaceful with us?

Hi Connor, I think that's a great question you asked. It was something I was asking myself while watching the video but wouldn't have thought to ask to the interviewee. I also thought it was interesting to hear about the discussion of aliens coming into human life and think it would significantly change how life is viewed but also how humans could live.
Hello Connor, I find your thoughts and questions interesting. Another question to add is that, even if we can detect a signal from a foreign life source, how can we meet with the universe's vastness keeping us apart? Assuming their technology is similar to ours, it may not actually be possible to travel that amount of space.
Hi Connor, firstly I just wanted to say great questions! Your comment on how the government contacting aliens coud inspire a new surge of scientific exploration made me think. Do you think that this would be out of curiosity or fear? More generally, what do you think actually drives human innovation?
