Rayo believes that the Universe is deterministic and that everything (given enough inputs) could be predicted with extreme accuracy. This pertains to my project considering the prediction of outcomes in war, because the original article I read for the class online about predicting the outcomes of war emphasized that the human behavior element would make predictions about the outcomes of war only a few most likely options among a world of possibilities. He also talks about how a deterministic universe is not incompatible with free will because just because I can perfectly predict what someone will do doesn't mean they didn't act freely. This makes me curious to see how algorithms may have been fashioned to measure people's values when they make decisions in war, and how that can change the outcomes.
