One key takeaway from the climate discussion interview is that we as a society can be extremely proactive in encouraging entrepreneurs to find technological solutions to many of the issues that we face. Because it is not being properly incentivized, we are not seeing the same advances in the realm of climate as we are in other fields, such as AI or Sports Analytics. There could be many possible solutions, especially in terms of government incentives. When considering the class discussion about theory vs. data-driven prediction metrics, I think that we see that there is no perfect solution that does not incorporate both theory and data. Too much theory fails to take into account real-world events. On the other hand, data-driven solutions are subject to error because much of the success of data-driven solutions depends on the data being input into the system. The key takeaway is that there is not one singular solution but requires a multiitude of solutions.
