The most interesting part of this interview for me was how long it has taken economics to shift to the mindset of behavioral economics and the importance of psychology. While the field is growing, many economists still hold true to the ideas of fully rational actors in models even though the data (and frankly, our everyday lives) surely contradict this fact. The discussion on free will versus determinism was also incredibly interesting, as well as how it would be possible for us to eventually get to a point where we can perfectly model behavior. Personally, I don't think that this will ever be achievable, but I do think there is immense value in trying to get to a point where we can predict and model the decisions people make. This is where the true intellectual stimulation of economics comes from for me.
