For this post, I will be assessing how the interview, Prediction, and Philosophy tie into my final project topic which explores the type of predictive metrics casinos use to stay profitable. Within the interview, there is a discussion about the predictable nature of human behaviors which is a key component used when casinos create forecasting models. Understanding and predicting human behavior helps to optimize their games and marketing tactics. This aligns with the discussion about how predictable human behavior can be and how societal structures are built on the premise of predictability. In summary, if human behavior was not predictable, casino models would be far less accurate and it would be more difficult to remain profitable.
