In an interview with Ben Shneider, he argues that AI should be treated as tools rather than as collaborators in work. He warns against using language that makes AI seem human-like such as “AI learned,” or “the computer decided.” This view may have seemed very cautious at times, but it has become increasingly more relavent nowadays with AI bring used far more frequently.
As someone who conducts research in the field of psychiatry, this human vs AI connection has been closely monitored. Some labs have begun to evaluate whether AI is able to administer therapy to people. This means that a role historically reserved for humans (providing empathy and support), could be met by AI. While Shneider obviously cautioned against seeing AI as human, people currently seem to believe it could play a role in performing human-like tasks.
