While it may not be the most objectively surprising piece of information overall in the video, something that piqued my interest as surprising was the brief discussion of uncertainty of predictions and the principles governing human thoughts as they consider what predictions mean to them. This particular portion is especially interesting to because it, in a way, both undermines the value of predictions in creating practical results (at least for the everyday person), but it also bolsters the idea that predictions can be used as a sort of social tool or norm for spreading information or making discussion about how the world works. Uncertainty itself is something that is unintuitive to human beings, and since an error bar might be very large on the probability that an event will happen, it skews human reaction and perception. This drives humans towards desiring a sure-thing more.
