I truly liked when Loeb talked about the importance of making mistakes when asked about his definition of uncertainty. I had not considered the importance of child curiosity before watching this video. I found it very interesting when he said, "Unfortunately, when people enter academia, they forget about their childhood curiosity. And that I think is what should be the engine driving discovery in science." This quote reminded me to connect with my inner child and let her drive my curiosity without worrying about receiving judgment. The moment we do not do something because we worry about what someone else might think is when we stop ourselves from making amazing discoveries.

Hi Cesarina,
I love the idea that making mistakes is a crucial part of creativity and the research process. It makes me wonder how the willingness to explore unlikely ideas and be freely curious can be encouraged by educational systems today. This is especially true given that mistakes and deviations from a "standard method" are so readily punished within schools.
