I found this interview with Dan Gilbert quite interesting, especially when he mentioned the idea that the human race may be the only species on Earth that actively thinks about the future. While he had many critics who tried to claim other species do things that point reference to attempts of predicting the future, humans are the only species we know of that specifically attempt to predict the future.
