The most surprsing bit of information I learned was the false positives that Jill Tarter encountered. I was surprised that she only had 2 false postives. I wonder how she is able to determine which signals make her feel more confident than others to keep pressing for more information. The two false positives she had were a distant airport and a sataliette ring, but I figure that they would pick up on these signals a lot of the time. Therefore, I found it interesting that only twice she thought it was an actual signal.
I would have asked the question: Do you think that extraterrestrial intelligence should be government funded or funded more or less than it is currently?

I am a fan of this question. It is interesting to consider the possible benefits that could be afforded by funding these programs. On one hand, there are arguably more pressing issues that should receive funding, but on the other hand, searching for communication to extraterrestrial life forms could be extremely productive.
I think that you have a great question, and think that the level of government funding for the search for extraterrestrial intelligence is an important consideration that I was also thinking about when watching the video, in regards to post detection protocols. Given the potential significance of discovering intelligent life beyond Earth, an argument could be made that increased government support is warranted. However, it's also crucial to think about other scientific priorities as well. Ultimately, it would be interesting to hear Jill Tarter's perspective on this, given her extensive experience and into the field. Overall, I would like to hear opinion's for both sides (funded or funded less).
