Once a navigator figures out longitude and latitude, maps (or charts, as they are called at sea) are an essential resource for them to know where they are and where they are going.
There are currently no maps discussed in Lost Without Longitude, but we encourage you to explore the Harvard Map Collection for a wealth of digitized maps from throughout the ages.
